The Allam cycle is an oxy-combustion cycle for generating electricity from natural gas with near-zero emissions. When the fuel is changed to liquified natural gas, the gas compression work is reduced; therefore; the power plant cycle can be highly competitive with the other conventional power plant cycles. In this study, two alternatives for using cold energy during the liquified natural gas regasification were investigated to reduce the CO2 compression work. The results indicated that the direct heat integration of liquified natural gas regasification and liquefaction of captured CO2 in the Allam cycle leads to an energy saving of 46.34%. Additionally, the amount of captured CO2 during indirect heat integration of the Allam cycle with an organic Rankine cycle is less than the direct method. However, this method is the best choice for improvement, generating additional electricity and showing a 58% energy saving.
